East River Apartment
New York | completed | 2025
Set along Manhattan’s East Side waterfront, this light-filled residence was reimagined for a young family as a home that feels polished without ever becoming precious. The idea was not to reinvent the apartment, but to draw out its best qualities through richer materials, warmer tones, and a more intuitive sense of flow.
Much of the transformation came through finishes, lighting, and furnishings, while subtle expansions to the foyer and kitchen reshaped the experience of the plan. These small architectural moves created greater openness between spaces and gave the home a more relaxed, social rhythm.
– The intervention was intentionally selective.
There is a deliberate balance between structure and softness throughout. Clean architectural lines are tempered by rounded silhouettes, saturated tones, and pieces chosen as much for how they feel as for how they look. The result is layered but never overworked, sophisticated without sacrificing comfort.
– Ultimately, the home finds its character in that balance: refined enough to feel timeless, relaxed enough to be fully lived in.

As Design Director, I shaped the overall concept and design direction through detailed mood boards and material studies that established a cohesive visual language for the project. Working closely with the Junior Designer, I led the FF&E selection, procurement, and staging process, ensuring that each piece supported the broader design vision.
I was also closely involved in project management, particularly during the installation phase, where multiple teams were working simultaneously within a limited footprint. Coordinating furniture, artwork, decor, vendors, artists, and installers required careful sequencing and constant communication to keep the process efficient and on schedule.
With tight timelines and limited on-site resources, adaptability and strategic coordination were essential. By maintaining a clear design vision while managing the logistics behind it, we were able to deliver a cohesive and fully resolved final space.
